Sharing the gospel and our lives with the military community

Foreign Armed Forces Ministry-Burundi

$

According to a 2015 International Monetary Fund report, Burundi, Africa is the poorest nation in the world. This country is still recovering from a civil war and genocide that ended in 2005. Eighty percent of Burundians live in poverty and 57% of children under the age of five suffer from chronic malnutrition. The national police force and army are both continuing to evolve out of a culture that was dominated by hatred, mistrust, and corruption.

God has brought Cadence into this setting allowing us to partner with local ministries that are working to minister to all the above challenges. We have served the police and army by providing conferences on Christian ethics and a Christian approach towards trauma healing. Additionally we have worked with their wounded warrior camp in an attempt to bring hope and spiritual healing in Jesus Christ.

We have also taken U.S. personnel on short term mission trips to serve in orphanages, conduct a vision clinic, help build homes for the outcast and poor, and provide meals, clothing and school supplies.

All this work is done through local ministries and churches. We believe it is important that we are a blessing to the work God is already doing through these groups. Currently God is providing opportunities for us to serve in Burundi twice a year. We are grateful for your prayers and financial partnership. Funding given directly supports the work done in the country and the teams that go to serve. For further information, please contact Brian Kleager (brian.kleager@cadence.org).
