Sharing the gospel and our lives with the military community

The Homestead at JBER

$

The Homestead Hospitality House
17607 Almdale Ave.
Eagle River, AK 99577

The Homestead serves Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson(JBER) which is located in Anchorage, AK. The work force consists of approximately 5500 Air Force, 5500 Army, and 3500 civilian personnel. In addition, there are 1900 Air and Army National Guard members serving at JBER.  The mission of all who are stationed here is to provide homeland and civil defense, securing and defending the northern borders of the United States and supporting military activities around the Pacific Rim.

Only a 20 minute drive from base, The Homestead sits on 2.5 acres hidden at the end of a quiet neighborhood with amazing views and plenty of space inside and out. From 40 to as many as 70 attend Friday night meals and Bible Study. Several committed volunteers make up a Leadership Team that partners with Bob and Stephanie Caudle and Becky McClure (Cadence Missionaries) to equip leaders, plan and carry out ministry events and build a solid Christ-centered community. Our Support Team, motivated by their Love for the Lord and young military people, provides the funds and prayer power needed to carry out this mission.

We have two primary target groups: Single Airmen and Soldiers living in the dorms/barracks and young military families. Both groups are in critical phases of transition, more open than ever for someone to lovingly help them find their way, and needing God’s life within them. To that end we build relationships with airmen, soldiers and families through various Chapel ministries, Friday night meals and Bible Study, varied outdoor activities, service and work projects. We do all these for the purpose of introducing troops to Christ and a healthy enjoyment of life with God in Alaska.

The major focus of the Hospitality House ministry is presenting the Gospel through life-on-life evangelism (loving people well) and discipleship (teaching them how to love God and others well).  We work alongside Chaplains on base and maintain a relationship-centered, home-away-from-home style of ministry in an effort to reach many for Christ.

"We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ" and “We loved you so much that we shared with you not only God’s Good News but our own lives, too.

Col.1:28 and I Thess. 2:8
